The Church Project
As a demonstration of our love for Christ as a sisterhood, AM’s are asked to complete a project for a church in the community. My pledge class hosted a parent’s night out for a local church. Parent’s dropped their kids off and we provided fun activities and Chic-fil-a to keep the children entertained so their parents could have a night to themselves. It is such an incredibly rewarding feeling to know that we were able to do service to the Christian community by giving back to the families at one of our sisters’ congregations and by providing an exciting and social atmosphere for the children to spend time with each other.
The Chapter Project
What better way to show your love and dedication to your sisters than to do something special for the sorority? Our chapter project focused on just that. Not only did we purchase, paint and dedicate a porch swing to the house, but we created mason jars with inspirational quotes to place around the house to remind sisters how incredible they are each day. Everyone has days where they’re feeling down or being too hard on themselves, and as a pledge class we wanted to make sure everyone could have a little reminder that they are loved and appreciated just the way they are.
The Community Project
In order to give back to our philanthropy, we held two profit nights, one at Sweet Frogs and one at Lime, and donated the proceeds to the Arc of Orange County. The manager of Lime told us that we held one of the largest profit nights they had ever seen! Not only was this an amazing feeling, but it was even more incredible to see the support from the sisterhood for what their newest pledge class was doing! My sorority family made it a family dinner and we spent the time hanging out, getting to know each other, and supporting the cause. The level of support and comfort that the Phi Beta Chi sisters demonstrate towards one another is unbelievable.
