Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner? That’s a question that no one can say no to—and when you pair that with raising money for a great cause, you have a winning combination. Phi Beta Chi’s Breakfast for Bethesda does just that—all of our sisters joined together, making pancakes and sausage to feed our friends and raise money for the Bethesda Lutheran homes.
Since I became a member of Phi Beta Chi in the fall, I had heard about our main philanthropy event since September and I could not wait to have a chance to participate in it myself. I signed up to serve food and spent my hour-long shift serving pancakes to many of my sisters’ friends and other members of the Greek community. You may think that pancake serving would be monotonous, but it was anything but that. I constantly received surprises from the kitchen, getting heart-shaped, Mickey Mouse or animal shaped pancakes to serve to the next lucky person in line.
It was great to see friends I knew from campus getting to see Phi Beta Chi’s beautiful house and hear compliments about us all making our own food, working hard to serve our philanthropy. I enjoyed my first Breakfast for Bethesda, and cannot wait to help on more to come!
