In the beginning, I got to bond with a lot of other sisters by going on Big/Little dates. All of which I enjoyed. Who could turn down a trip to YoPo? But in the end I could only have one Big. The decision for me was relatively easy. During my dates with Lauren Sutton, we discovered we had similar tastes in books and that we shared a crazy love for Carolina basketball (but more importantly Marcus Paige). What I loved most about Lauren was the fact that she was extremely easy to talk to and I felt that I was the most comfortable with her. The only thing that I was concerned about by the time we had to submit our Top 5 Bigs, was whether or not she felt the same. Another major downside of Big/Little week was the long wait for it to start. Before spring break, our Bigs already knew who they had been paired up with and it was literal torture. Going through everyone’s statuses on Facebook made me so much more anxious. I just wanted to know who my Big was!
Throughout the next week, I got multiple presents and I felt so special. Every day was such a surprise. On Day 2, Lauren had come to decorate my room. She placed pictures of the basketball team around my room (my favorite one was the one that read, “Marcus Paige thinks you’re a ten”...obviously). After this, I felt pretty positive that my Big was going to be Lauren, but then the hints got a little tricky. The hints slowly started to venture farther and farther from the truth, making me doubt that Lauren was my Big. I realize now that she did this intentionally, but it made me so nervous for reveal!
When I saw Lauren on the other side of the curtain I could not contain my excitement. I think I just about tackled her. Finally knowing that it was her made me really happy.
During this next year, I am looking forward to make more memories with Lauren and to eventually get my own little to expand our fabulous fam!
