Let’s back up a bit- to the week of October 21st, 2013- where I came home to a decorated room, was given presents by boys, and on Saturday finally met my big, Claire—and found out I had a twin, Merritt, too!! I could not wait to spoil someone else like I had been spoiled and to sneak around campus delivering gifts.
Fast forward to May, where I met one of my best friends from high school for a crafting day. Yes, little, I was crafting for you months before I even had any idea who the AMs were going to be.
Finally, the week arrived. It was so interesting being on the other side of the whole experience. Merritt and I set out to chalk around 11 PM on Sunday night so our littles would see it when they walked to class the next morning. We kept our guard up, nervous that someone would see us. The next day, I had to strategically plan when I would decorate her room (since I was in class all day). I met her roommate outside her dorm, not giving my name so the secret would be kept safe.
Tuesday, we delivered their gifts to AM class. I could barely make eye contact with anyone, and observed from the hall, seeing if Meredith liked my gift.
Wednesday is by far my favorite day of big/ little week. On Wednesday, the bigs get boys to come sing to the littles. It was hilarious to see Graham sing “My Girl” to Meredith and the other littles (and to the whole chapter as well).
Friday was a great day as well. I actually ended up getting Meredith’s boyfriend to come deliver the gift to Deb’s Powderpuff (a pretty big feat considering he goes to State). I could tell she was so surprised and I was so happy everything came together.
THE DAY OF REVEAL
I woke up Saturday morning so excited- probably even more excited than I was as a little. I could hardly wait to welcome Merritt and I’s perfect new littles to the family! Since reveal this year was picnic-themed, Merritt, Claire and I drove to Bojangles to have that for our picnic. We headed to the Arboretum to grab a good spot, and anxiously waited for the littles to arrive.
