Most people think that the day they have a child is the happiest day of their lives. Obviously, I have yet to have that experience, so of course getting my little takes the cake thus far.
The day I got the email was one of the happiest ever. Seeing my perfect little’s name on my phone screen was like magic. I immediately started scouring Pinterest for all of the perfect crafts and gifts to shower her with. I did not want to give Lillian any less than my perfect big had provided for me, so I had huge shoes to fill.
Fall break was spent shopping ‘til I dropped. I did not have time to craft during my few days at home, so the next week at school was completely stressful. With multiple crafts to do, presents to wrap, baskets to fill, and things to decorate, I was clearly swamped. Luckily, I had a partner in crime to accomplish all of my big duties with and I was able to turn my bedroom into a canvas factory. I had plenty of sleepless nights, but in the end, all was well.
As someone who loves to give gifts to people, Big Little Week was one of the most fun weeks EVER. I loved sneaking around and having other people sneak around for me. One of my favorite days was Tuesday, when I stayed up until 2 in the morning to write chalk messages for her when I knew she wouldn’t be around. I also really loved having awkward encounters with her suitemates while I decorated the outside of her bedroom!
As a little, Big Little week was spent discovering my inner CSI. Every note and present was analyzed. I spent many passing moments combing through my memory deciding who did and didn’t fit each gift. Those awful clues completely threw me off, especially “I have never seen Mean Girls,” because I didn’t know you were allowed in a sorority if you haven’t seen Mean Girls. In the end every present had a little trace of sass that in my heart of hearts I knew could only be Ashley. No one else would say “We go together like creeps and mustaches”. Our match was made in heaven, which works out because we are the Christian sorority. I have the perfect family, and I love my Sass Dynasty.
